271008 – Hanoi to Halong Bay
Sleep in and miss chance for breakfast,
no internet for checking bank
Get on bus
1.5hr trip, scener
Crafts centre, misserable food and coffee. Beef fried noodles
Back on bus
1.5hrs more
arrive at jetty, buy silly hats. Adam and others still smoking
onto boat, Vickie nearly gets left behind,
drinks and then lunch. Seafood lunch of AWESOME
scenery, girls sunning on upper deck
stop out in the islands, jump in from upper deck and swim
first swim of 6 months.
Swim to duck-island and climb on top.
Swim back, doing ok.
Head for Catba Island, arrive and bus to hotel
pretty scenery
check-in, dump gear and go to warf to watch sunset, some head on to beach
back to hotel, chill, shower
head down for dinner, drinks. Happy-hour cocktails, mojito, 2 mai tai, banana dacqueri
cheese-burger, stop drinks
chat to Paul
head back, get laptop and find internet.
Back to hotel, Andy thinks Im asleep in room
others head out for drinks, I head to bed.
